FlashVideoReplacer is an extension that allows to replace embedded flash videos and display them with a different plugin or standalone player, download or automatically redirect to WebM player when available.

it's broke....again... i noticed it today, it loads html5 videos but not mp4
Is it just me or it doesn't wor anymore¿¿ any suggestions¿¿
ok, so this will not completely replace your flash player. (yet) Hopefully the developers will keep working on it because it is a good step in the right direction. And I am planning to send them 5 bucks in the hopes that they do. Single largest issue: It only supports a some sights so… you need something else for the others. Minus 2 stars for that one alone. Also – when in embedded mode, there is no video controls? What’s up with that – play/pause/ff/rev/volume/mute? The controls are there if you go to full screen mode, why not otherwise. Further, when in full screen you can’t use the ‘esc’ to exit – you have to use the control button. That should be a pretty standard feature to have. So – ½ star off for those. Admittedly – I only played with this for about an hour trying to tweak it in and did not even attempt a download with it. Essentially, good start. Just not there yet.
No work with Dailymotion. Hope than you create an update for... With Youtube, it's perfect for old computer.
This add-on is definitely the best thing I installed in my Firefox within the last few months. Ever since Flash spread on the Internet, I hated it. Because Flash is one of the big nuisances on the Internet: nagging ads with sounds. On top of that, it makes contents inaccessible, eats up resources and is a major security risk. In other words: Flash is the fecal matter that comes out of the brains of web designers who are idiots and never heard of usability or security. With this add-on, finally on YouTube I don't have to rely on the crappy Flash player anymore. This is evolution. And hopefully one day, Flash will disappear completely from the Internet.
Для старых компьютеров, не имеющих VDPAU - самое то! Не грузит процессор, в отличии от Flash
Please support Embedded Youtube Videos !!!
Probably the best add on I run into. Solved problems of sluggish streaming videos on my old machine (1,5ghz cpu and 640 mb ram) on Xubuntu 10.4. Everything runs just smooth now.Thank u!
A must have.
strange...i haven't changed anything on my Iceweasel and i can't use FVR on youtube. i have the html5 activated... "You are currently in the HTML5 trial." and in the FVR i have: embedded preferwebm (it's working althought i don't know if it's FVR or what i said above) mimetype - autodetect (this doesn't work) fallback - none am i doing something wrong?
i believe it's not working again on youtube... another youtube change i guess. the other sites are ok. great addon...my Debian box loves it ;)
I'm confused - reading reviews and so on it sounds as if this works on many different video streaming sites, maybe even most.... but on the addon homepage under compatibility, it says it only supports 6 sites?? Before I install it, I'd really like a better understanding of whether it only works on a handful of sites, or if it will work on many/most sites... also if it uses more or less memory and/or CPU than not having it installed? Since I haven't actually used it and am trying to get more info first, I went ahead and gave it a three on the rating. I wish it were possible to leave it blank. Thanks!
Doesn't work anymore :(:(:(
First with Ubuntu and now with Fedora, I have been looking for a replacement of Flash Player for 8 years. Now I can tell I found it. Not giving 5 stars because it doesn't work with some (marginal) websites that I usually visit.
love love love! have a school computer that dont let me download flash so this works great acully if it was more like flash id use it on my regular computer because i like it loads almost all the way before playing and you dan go back and forth thru viedo and not worrie bout flash loading for 5 min
All webgapps add-ons are free, but you can help the development making a small contribution.
